Dear Residents in the Lodge Area of Pebble Beach,

The Monterey County Planner, Thomas McCue, has advised our organization that within the next six months they expect to release, for public comment, a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the Analysis of Measure "A" and Pebble Beach Company's pending application for a major development of Company property in Del Monte Forest.

The Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach and Monterey County response to the EIR will be made available for you as soon as possible.

Our organization is concerned about the size of the proposed construction projects and the impact they will have on the residential community in many areas of Del Monte Forest including your area around The Lodge. Your help is needed in convincing the decision makers that the proposed development plans must be reduced in size. We all need to communicate with PB Company representatives, County Commissioners and Supervisors and the Coastal Commission Commissioners to request their help and action in reducing the number and size of the proposed major construction projects.

A list of individuals that should be contacted is enclosed.

Also enclosed is material on the proposed development projects in your area. This includes

a major expansion of The Lodge with 63 new guest rooms - (20 units in a new building, called "The Colton Building" to be constructed on the south side of the lst fairway of the golf links and 43 units in another new building complex on the site of the existing "Fairway One House" that will be removed).

The expansion also includes two new undergound garages with 149 parking spaces under the new Fairway One building and 224 parking spaces under the existing parking area near the gas service station on 17 Mile Drive near The Lodge. Parking and traffic circulation realignment is proposed in the area north of The Lodge.

Renovation and additions are also proposed for meeting rooms and house support rooms at The Lodge. This will involve the addition of approximately 3,750 sq. ft. of new facilities.
