CONCERNED RESIDENTS OF PEBBLE BEACH and Monterey County
A Non-Profit California Corporation

MISSION STATEMENT

The Del Monte Forest is a prime, urbanized natural forest with significant residential and commercial activity. The residential and commercial communities of the Forest live side-by-side, generally in harmony, but with growing inherent conflicts. The residents perceive increased encroachment of expanding commercial activity as a potential threat to their quality of living.

The residents support the financial well-being of the Pebble Beach Company and in the past have made accommodations to the Company in the spirit of cooperation. However, the apparent increase in commercial expansion convinces the residents that they must take action to protect themselves from further encroachment.

Therefore, to maintain the residential character of the Del Monte Forest, we:

  • Are dedicated to preserving the residential community in Del Monte Forest.
  • Support limits and controls on any further expansion of commercial property.
  • Oppose further conversion of property to commercial usage.
  • Oppose excessive commercial development in the Forest that will have an adverse impact on Forest residential areas and on neighboring communities.
  • Support all efforts that will enhance the residential environment.
  • Support limited low density residential development.
  • Support a first-class Equestrian Center in the Forest and preserve the Forest Trail System

The Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach organization began meeting in 1996 and 1997. In 1998 the organization became a non-profit corporation and expanded to include concerned residents of Monterey County.

Proposed Future Pebble Beach Company Resort Expansion Plans

The Concerned Residents of Pebble Beach and Monterey County support reasonable development of commercial and residential property in Del Monte Forest. However, it is important that any future development be properly planned to benefit the residential community as well as the resort complexes.

Future development plans should include full mitigation of any possible adverse impacts the plans will have on the established Forest residential areas and neighboring communities.
