Subject: Monterey County's Public Scoping Meeting for Preparation of an EIR on Pebble Beach Company's Applications for Major commercial Development in Del Monte Forest

Reference: Herald's recent article on the Sept. 25th meeting in the "Your town" column (copy enclosed)

Dear Mr. R. Calkins

The enclosed letter from our organization to the Monterey County Planning Director and Senior Planner provides additional information on the subject meeting.

It would be helpful if another article could be published on this subject. The meeting was called b the County in order that the public could participate by presenting input on the potential impacts of this project for the Jones & Stokes company that was hired by the County to conduct the environmental impact study and to provide the draft EIR. Mr. Rich Walter of Jones & Stokes is the Project Manager.

Mr. Thomas A. McCue, Monterey County Senior Planner advised the audience that, during the next 15 days, his office will accept additional written comments to help clarify the scope of issues and potential impact of this project.

As you probably know, this meeting and additional information on this project is covered on our website, www.cr-ob.org.

Sincerely,

/ss / ss/
