Thom McCue, a County Asociate Planner, advised the Committee that the Revised Draft Schedule for the EIR may be revised as work progresses. He and a County Senior Planner advised that:

  • The County must prepare a separate Measure "A" submittal document to forward to the California Coastal Commission along with the Measure "A" Initiative which amends the Del Monte Forest Land Use Plan.

  • Sending these documents to the Coastal Commission could occur, at the earliest, two months after the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the P.B. Co. Development and Environmental Analysis of Measure "A" is completed.

  • The County Board of Supervisors will make the final decision on submitting the Measure "A" documents to the Coastal Commission and that submittal may take place after the Supervisors consider the P.B. Co. Development project.

  • Dates for Public Hearings on the new Environmental Impact Report will be published later.

  • After the Draft EIR is published, the public will have forty five (45) days to submit comments to the County.

The Request For Proposal (RFP) is a document the County has mailed to contractors, which are companies that conduct Environmental Impact Studies. It provides the scope of work involved.

The Notice Of Preparation (NOP) has been issued to notify all State and Federal Agencies that the county is accepting proposals from contractors to prepare an Environmental Impact Report. The Agencies will respond by providing the County with guidance on what the contractor should include in their EIR.

These documents are or will be posted on the Monterey County Planning Department Web site at:
