December 8, 2003 - Update on NEW CELL PHONE ANTENNAS IN DEL MONTE FOREST. Pebble Beach Company's Planner advised that the Permit Application for five new Cell Phone antennas was submitted to Monterey County on November 21, 2003. It is expected the County will issue the Permit in early 2004.

Five of the County Planning commissioners and others visited the antenna sites in Del Monte Forest on November 1st.

When approved by the County, Coastal Commission and the FCC, Pebble Beach Co. plans to lease the use of this new Forest wireless network/antenna system to the national companies now providing cellular phone service. Each of these five antennas will be able to accommodate up to four carriers.

Currently cell phone users receive poor or no reception on their cell phones in many areas of Del Monte Forest. The added antenna system will eliminate this problem.

Pebble Beach Company's application for permits for the five new wireless cell phone antennas were approved by the Del Monte Forest Land Use Advisory Committee to Monterey County on November 7th and the County Planning Commission on December 11th.

Future reports on Coastal Commission and FCC approvals and lease agreements with cell phone service providers will be posted on this website when available.
